SPECIAL B100C BACKHOE LOADER MAKES ITS DEBUT IN MARBLE QUARRY SECTOR |
| |
  |
 |
Last year we wrote about a prototype B100C specially adapted for marble cutting, which had been tested in Carrara quarries and subsequently in Portugal by customer Solancis, who were so pleased with it that they purchased it.
The project has since progressed and the B100C fitted with a chain cutter in place of the backhoe, developed by Benetti Macchine SpA in collaboration with the New Holland Construction Engineering division in Lecce, has made its official debut at the Marmomacc trade fair in Verona last autumn.

This specially adapted B100C offers an ingenious, simple method for cutting blocks of marble, which is both fast and efficient. “This machine was created to meet the needs of our customers, who were missing a machine that could operate autonomously in the quarry and cut blocks of marble where they are,” explains Federico Benetti, owner of Bennetti Macchine.
Diamond wire cutting machines do not move autonomously, but must be positioned on tracks that run next to the blocks to be cut. This operation lengthens working time considerably. The B100C, however, is able to move up to the marble blocks autonomously and square them up, so they can be transported by truck to the facilities where they are cut into slabs.

NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH LEICA BROADENS NEW HOLLAND CONSTRUCTION’S MACHINE CONTROL OFFERING |
| |
  |
 |
CNH Industrial formed a strategic partnership with Leica Geosystems, a leading global provider of design, measurement and visualization technologies, specializing in machine control solutions for construction equipment.
The strategic long-term partnership with Leica brings to our brand the technological leadership and expertise of one of the most respected companies in the machine controls industry, and it gives us access to the full Leica offering. It will expand our machine control offering – which today includes Leica-ready, Topcon-ready and Trimble-ready products – by adding factory fitted and aftermarket Leica systems on our product lines.
In a first phase, the Leica machine control systems will be available as a DIA kit through our spare parts channels. The second step will be for them to become available also as factory fit first for dozers then for graders, with the possibility of extending to other product lines.

As we go forward, we will continue to work on expanding our offering of Leica-ready, Topcon-ready and Trimble-ready solutions to other product lines. In addition, our engineering teams will work with Leica’s to evaluate the development of new factory fit solutions to maximise the integration and performance of our equipment.
We are one of just three manufacturers in the industry to have in place an agreement of this type, which gives us a solution jointly developed with our specialist technological partner and approved by them. Our approach is testament to our commitment to offer maximum flexibility to our customers in order to provide the widest choice of advanced solutions.
